چکیده
The effect of a series thin, horizontal, low-permeability layers on convective motion from distributed dense source along an upper boundary in otherwise homogeneous, two-dimensional porous medium is considered. This set-up provides idealised version relatively common form heterogeneity geological formations. thickness and permeability the thin are assumed to be small relative distance between them bulk permeability, respectively. As such, can parameterised by their impedance $\varOmega$ – dimensionless ratio effective layer while strength convection controlled $H \gg 1$ layers, which also interpreted as Rayleigh number for flow. role explored with aid high-resolution numerical simulations, simple analytical models developed evolution mean concentration flux limits large . For intermediate values , flow undergoes transition predominantly diffusive transfer across advective transfer, lateral scale become very large. characterised model developed.

Thermosolutal Convection of Micropolar Rotating Fluids Saturating a Porous Medium
Double-diffusive convection in a micropolar fluid layer heated and soluted from below in the presence of uniform rotation saturating a porous medium is theoretically investigated. An exact solution is obtained for a flat fluid layer contained between two free boundaries. To study the onset of convection, a linear stability analysis theory and normal mode analysis method have been used. For the ...

This paper considers an important model of boundary value problem with a condition at infinity namely combined free and forced convection over a plane of arbitrary shape embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium; this model admits dual solutions, and uses a technique, which is to some extent modification of homotopy analysis method (HAM), in order to obtain dual solutions analytically with hi...

This paper deals with the theoretical investigation of the thermal instability of a thin layer of electrically conducting micropolar rotating fluid, heated from below in the presence of uniform vertical magnetic field in porous medium. A dispersion relation is obtained for a flat fluid layer, contained between two free boundaries using a linear stability analysis theory, and normal mode analysi...
متن کاملUnsteady Free Convection from a Sphere in a Porous Medium with Variable Surface Temperature
In this paper a transient free convection flow around a sphere with variable surface temperature and embedded in a porous medium has been considered. The temperature of the sphere is suddenly raised and subsequently maintained at values that varies with position on surface. The method of asymptotic expansions is applied for small Rayleigh numbers and then a finite-difference scheme is used to s...
